The CREATE project, coordinated by the “Hám János” Roman Catholic Theological High School and co-funded by the European Commission, offered the students a unique experience through the international meeting held in Kulautuva, in the Kaunas region of Lithuania. The welcoming hosts — teachers and students from the local high school, located in Lithuania’s oldest resort, a picturesque area surrounded by forest — prepared a diverse five-day program (October 13–18) for the 47 students and teachers from the five partner countries.

The meeting opened with a stage performance of the adventure novel “The Adventures of a Hero through Europe”, written by students from the six participating countries and translated into seven languages during the previous school year. Since the event took place during the Erasmus Days (celebrated internationally between October 13–18), it also provided an opportunity for students to share messages about the importance of the Erasmus program for schools.

Among the students’ favorite workshops were interviews about the Erasmus program and painting sessions focused on raising awareness of environmental issues. The students’ creations were presented at the closing ceremony of the meeting.

As each mobility is symbolically marked by planting a tree, the host school gained a new maple tree, planted together by all participants.

The thematic excursions across Lithuania were unforgettable experiences for the students. Visits to Vilnius University, churches and monuments of historical significance, and the Writers’ Alley left a strong impression on participants. The city tour of Kaunas, Lithuania’s interwar capital, served as a genuine history lesson.

During the trip to the Baltic Sea, students learned about the effects of climate change and marine pollution, visiting the Lithuanian Sea Museum and the Baltic Seal Rehabilitation Center. In addition to the educational and cultural activities, time spent with host families, moments of fun, and autographs on T-shirts at the final party brought the students even closer, forging lasting friendships.

The students will reunite with the same enthusiasm in Spain, in February 2026.
